More about me. Work ethos and interests
Normally a CV would list this as 'interests' so I thought it prudent to include here as well, for completeness. In honesty, I couldn't create a separate page just for an ethos so that's here too.
Work ethos
Honesty and integrity are right up there for me. I live an honest life and expect to be treated with respect, just as I try to treat others. In return I deliver on commitments and conduct myself in an open manner but with a directness and frank exchange.
I truly think that people have lost their way with their work-life balance, becomming stressed to the point of breaking and allowing work to affect other areas of life and sleep. It is imperitive for a healthy mind, body and homelife to learn the art of balance. This is not New Age woo woo, rather common sense, otherwise known as uncommon sense because its not that common. Take the time off, set achievable deadlines and ask questions when you're unsure. Yes, even of your line manager - it's allowed to manage the manager at times too.
We're all at work to work, so work, but have a sense of humour about it!
Interests and getting it right
I enjoy outdoor activity in the form of hiking and camping (yes, really) and I'm a keen gardener, landscaper and grower of veg. I'll frequently settle in the vegetable patch with a good book, or a bad one at a push, or during the winter months indulge in the kitchen on some culinary quest which is a good excuse for opening a bottle of wine half way through a dark and bleak day.
I provide editorial and IT services to the local residents association and am undertaking ad hoc joinery instruction from a Master Craftsman. I'm not very good at it and there's so much blood in the furniture that they feel related.
I believe that if you are going to do something, you should do it right, with passion and leave a legacy.

About Holisys Ltd
The name 'Holisys' is obviously a combination of two words - 'holistic' and 'systems'. This reflects both the approach to work by considering all apsects and influences, and also that everything is a part of a system.
The company logo is designed to hypnotise you into awarding me a contract, and this text is to see if you have read all the way down here!
